Nutrition Programs
Home-Delivered Meals
Freshly prepared lunches for seniors and adults with disabilities are delivered by volunteers Monday-Friday. Meals are prepared by Anderson Hospital four days a week. On Thursdays, the meals are prepared by a rotating list of local restaurants and caterers. The Center meal program is private-pay of $5.00/day with a $90 refundable deposit. Several grants are available for those who quality, providing 1/2 cost of the meals.

Commodity Food Boxes

The Center partners with St. Louis Foodbank to provide FREE Commodity Supplemental Food Boxes for seniors who qualify. The boxes are designed to stretch the pantry of the recipient by providing basic grains, juice, shelf-stable milk, cereal, meat, cheese and more. To qualify, the household income must not exceed 130% of poverty level. Applications are simple and easy to complete.

Senior Farmer's Market Vouchers
Please note that all Farmers Vouchers have been used at this time.

In Partnership with the Edwardsville Township, local administrator of the Illinois Senior Farmer’s Market Nutrition Program, the Center distributes vouchers to those who qualify. The vouchers can be used at local farmer’s markets. Each recipient can receive up to $50 in coupons. Qualifications include age and income. Available yearly from July – September.

Health Programs
At our local senior center, we provide access to a variety of health programs including blood pressure screenings, pet health vaccinations, and microchips, as well as annual community health fairs. Our team of volunteers is dedicated to giving those 60+ years and older the health programs they need to thrive. Whether you need affordable health services for your pets or some proactive screenings and vaccine clinics to help you stay healthy, you can rely on Main Street Community Center to help you every step of the way.

Transportation Programs
Main Street Community Center provides door-to-door transportation for Edwardsville residents 60+ and those with a disability. Riders must be independent or have a caregiver riding with them. The Center vehicle is driven by professional IDOT-certified drivers. Rides are available by appointment Monday-Friday from 8:00am-3:00pm. Reservations must be made the previous business day.
To register for transportation, the Center has a simple and fast process with the completion of a few forms. Paperwork can be completed at the Center or it can be sent to the rider via email or US mail.

Recreation Programs
One of our favorite things to organize at the Main Street Community Center is recreational programs for our local seniors to enjoy. We offer a variety of events throughout the year including cards and games, exercise, and social events.

Playing Cards – Bridge, Euchre, and Pinochle
